Welcome to our blog! We are newlyweds, just married on 3.24.06. We live just outside of Dallas, TX and have 3 adorable chihuahuas-Darby, Zoe, and Isabella. We have a crazy life and our posts will be about everything in it. Hope you enjoy the postings here!

Dallas Food and Wine Festival

Today we went to the Dallas Food and Wine Festival in the design district. It was SO much fun!! We had a blast. So many wines, chefs, and amazing cuisine. Here is what was it was about:

Presented by Western Interiors and Design magazine, the Dallas Wine and Food Festival and the Decorative Center Dallas. Dedicated to the celebration of indoor/outdoor living and entertaining complete with discussions on design for indoor/outdoor living, outdoor entertaining and casual/easy living.

Featuring an entire day of chef demos, booksignings, food and wine tastings and reserve seminars, all included in the price of admission. Participating Showrooms include bulthaup architectural kitchens, Conduit Gallery, Ligne Roset, Scott + Cooner, and TKO Associates. The Western Interiors pavilion and all participating showrooms are open to welcome you throughout the day.

9:30 a.m. (Western Interiors Pavilion) - Check in, enjoy a glass of fresh Acqua Panna or S.Pellegrino and a cup of freshly brewed Community Coffee. Get your wineglass and enter to win in our free drawing. Gelataio Mastro Cristiana Acerbi of Paciugo Gelato and Caffè's will be creating specialties throughout the day including springtime Mango Gellinis.

10 - 4 p.m. (TKO Associates) - A selection of entertaining and cookbooks from Borders Bookstore is available - have your book signed by our local and visiting authors.

10 - 10:30 a.m. (TKO Associates) - Bryna Wilson of Dr. Delphinium Designs shows you new trends in floral design for your home.

10:45 - 11:15 a.m. (Ligne Roset) - Janet Fletcher, Food Writer for the San Francisco Chronicle will guide you through a comparison tasting of domestic, French and Greek feta cheeses and show how to prepare a composed salad from her book The Cheese Course. Huia Vineyards 2005 Sauvignon Blanc presented by Marie-Isabelle Devault.

11:30 - 12:00 p.m. (Scott + Cooner) - Executive Chef Vincenzo Indelicato of Nicola's Ristorante creates a favorite pasta dish. Featuring Vino Family Vineyards 2004 Cabernet Sauvignon.

12:15 - 1 p.m. (Western Interiors Pavilion) - Nationally acclaimed chef Kent Rathbun of Abacus and Jasper's Restaurantsdemonstrates fresh ideas for the summer grilling season - Margarita Shrimp with Pico de Gallo Cocktail Sauce featuring wines from Robert Mondavi.

1-2 Presentation by Todd Fiscus about Outdoor Entertaining and Party Planning Tips. Brazilian Themed Party Guide included!

1 - 4 p.m. (Ligne Roset) - Stop by and visit Sigel's Cheese Expert Theresa Magee, sampling some of the finest cheeses from around the world.

2 - 2:30 p.m. (bulthaup) - Executive Chef Joanne Bondy of Ciudad Restaurant takes you on a trip around the world of salt. Yes, salt! Including its world of flavors, nuances, colors, and uses. See and taste for yourself what a big role this little element can play in your food preparation and enjoyment. Featuring 2004 Artesa Sauvignon Blanc presented by Kelley Calhoon.

2:45 - 3:15 p.m. (Scott + Cooner) - Chef Grady Spears, our favorite Cowboy in the Kitchen, creates a gnarly Texas dish complimented with Gnarly Head 2004 Old Vine Zinfandel.

3:30 - 4:00 p.m. (bulthaup) - Hui Chuan of Hui Chuan Sushi, Saké and Tapas hosts a hands-on sushi demonstration and tastings. Sommelier James Tidwell from Café on the Green at the Four Seasons Resort, introduces award-winning Momokawa Saké.
